Lance graduated from Angelo State University with a BBA in Business Management. 

He has 15 years in the DME management field, 2 years as a Senior Systems Analyst, and 5 years as a Production Analyst.

He has served on the Board of Trustees and as Treasurer for the San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts; Board of Directors for ASU FAME (Friends of Art and Music Education), Board of Directors for the San Angelo School Foundation and Board of Directors and Vice-President, Amoco Houston Athletic Association.
